BOARD MESSAGE

Dear Members:

Thank you for the opportunity to serve as president of the 7x24 Exchange DC Chapter. It is a very exciting time for our industry and I am very enthusiastic about the activities we have planned for this year.

Our commitment is to remain relevant to our members and audience as we present high quality networking events and educational programs with meaningful content and people that will inspire and stimulate business. We appreciate all the support we have received thus far, allowing our chapter to award over $80,000 dollars in scholarship funds in the last 5 years. These students enter our industry with optimism and energy forging a better future with their innovation and knowledge. Sincere thanks to all of you that have agreed to support our events when asked and donate your most precious commodity of “time” to our mission.

It takes a lot of dedication to maintain the momentum of this organization and for that reason, we, the Board, of the Washington, DC Chapter are extremely appreciative of our member’s support. I am proud to report some of our achievements and successes during the last few years. I’ll start with our annual golf tournaments. For the past 6 years, this event has been sold out and has allowed us to donate close to $100,000 to different charitable organizations. Our Chapter meetings have been well attended and have also provided us the opportunity to continue our scholarship program.

I would also like to take this opportunity to recognize the DC Chapter Board of Directors for all their support and personal time investment. None of this could have been accomplished without their hard work and dedication. With that, I ask you to join me in thanking. Lillian Rivera with Primary Integration, John Becker with Freddie Mac, Ross Rebraca with HITT Contracting, Brian Brobst with Rosendin Electric, Julie Forsht with PowerSmiths, Don Miller with Holder Construction, Geoff Cope with EDG2, Scott Killian with Uptime Institute, Phillip Sandino with RagingWire, Daren Shumate with Build Environment Engineers; Rob Courson with AHA Engineers and Kurt Wallner with DPR.

We are very happy to present our new website and are hoping to keep you informed of our upcoming events. We look forward to an exciting year of activities. We need your involvement with all of our chapter events. You will develop in areas professionally because of your connection with the 7x24 DC Chapter. Tell a friend or a business associate about us and you will make a friend/associate for life!

Sincerely,

Jonathan Litvany

 BOARD MESSAGE

Dear Members:

Thank you for the opportunity to serve as the president of the 7x24 Exchange DC Chapter once again for the 2013 year. I am very excited about the activities we have planned for this year. I appreciate the participation from our members at the last event regarding Colocation Data Center leasing vs. Buying your own Data Center.  We received great feedback that this event was well received.

Our focus for this year continues to be on professional development, growing the chapter and providing more networking opportunities to members.  We are very excited about our new website and are hoping to keep you informed of our upcoming events.

It takes a lot of dedication to maintain the vitality of this organization and for that reason, we, the Board, of the Washington, DC Chapter are extremely appreciative of the fine turnout at each event.  We are equally appreciative of the sponsorship of the events as well.  We endeavor to ensure that each sponsor feels that they have benefitted from their support of our various chapter events.

None of this could have been accomplished without the hard work and dedication of the board members that have fulfilled their time of service. Lillian Rivera with Primary Integration, John Becker with Freddie Mac, Brian Brobst with Rosedin Electric, David Diquinzio with Reliability Centered, Julie Forsht with Cummins, Jonathan Litvany with Digital Realty Trust, Don Miller with Holder Construction, Ross Rebraca with HITT Contracting and Kenn Stipcak with Mark G. Anderson consulting.

Our new board members are Ecton English with the Department of Defense, Scott Killian with AOL, and John McMullen with Capital One. These three (3) end-users have begun immediately contributing to the chapter.  Scott and John were on the Colo vs. Buy panel discussion and did a fine job.  Ecton is leading the coordination of an event this year regarding a discussion on Environmental Controls (BMS/DCIM concepts, sensors, methods, etc.)  Another event will be regarding “Data Center Planning and Asset Management w/O&M and Commissioning.  We have also revamped our scholarship offering this year to increase the focus of student applicants that are majoring in a field relating to mission critical facilities. September 16th is our 3rd Annual Golf Tournament at International Country Club, Fairfax, VA and our Christmas Party in December among other planned events.

In closing, we look forward to an exciting year of activities. We need your involvement with all of our chapter events.  You will develop in areas professionally because of your connection with the 7x24 DC Chapter.  Tell a friend or a business associate about us and you will make a friend/associate for life!

Sincerely,

Derrick Millard
